Professor George Giaglis, also known as the “Blockchain Professor,” has joined INVioU’s Advisory Board

Professor George Giaglis has agreed to join the advisory board of INVioU, a platform that will utilize blockchain technology to manage the financial records and invoices of small- and medium-sized businesses.

Professor George Giaglis, who holds a Ph.D. from Brunel University (London), has been involved with blockchain since 2011. He is the scientific coordinator of the world’s first academic degree on blockchain (MSc in Digital Currency, University of Nicosia). The introductory course of this program has attracted almost 30,000 students from 85 different countries so far. Giaglis has published more than 150 articles in leading journals and was recently made Chief Editor of Blockchain Technology at the Frontiers in Blockchain journal.

Giaglis will advise INVioU, which aims to reduce the financing and credit margins of small businesses, especially those that would be otherwise prevented from entering the credit financing market due to their low transaction value and high-risk to lenders.

INVioU focuses on enabling SMB’s need for quick cash. Onboarding is conducted through a simple customer registration with a transparent interface to the digital invoice system. The initial onboarding process takes only a day, from recording the invoice history, to credit scoring, and financing the first invoice. After that, recurring invoice financing is much faster than is customary in this field.

Professor Giaglis said that “INVioU presents a very promising use case for blockchain, as it provides small businesses access to a decentralized invoice factoring marketplace, removing barriers to obtaining finance, neutralizing the risk of fraud and, as a result, reducing the overall cost of finance. I’m proud to support such efforts.”

Dror Shapira, CEO of INVIOU added: “When a blockchain persona such as Prof. Giaglis believes in us, it makes me certain that we are on the right path.”
