Best known as an industry leader for providing rugged, time-synchronized Ethernet solutions to the aerospace and defense industries, OnTime Networks has released its latest gigabit Ethernet router and switch portfolio, the CloudberryMIL CR-6200 Series. Markus Schmitz, Managing Director of OnTime Networks in the U.S. said of the new product release:
“The new CloudberryMIL CR-6200 Series high-performance switch/router platform has been designed from the ground up to perform in the harshest environments providing reliable connectivity for land, air and sea platforms. The CR-6200 MIL Series delivers either the Cisco 5921 ESR IOS or OnTime Networks router package with up to 24 1GbE ports and 4 10GbE ports. Therefore, the CR-6200 provides the right mix of performance and scalability to meet the requirements of today’s Aerospace and Defense platforms.”
The CR-6200 Series is designed to be a military-grade Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), fully managed Layer 2/3 Ethernet switch. Embedded software includes the Cisco 5921 Embedded Service Router (ESR) IOS with network time server capability that meets industry standards like IEEE 1588 PTP, NTP, IRIG, and 1PPS. It includes a rugged yet lightweight housing as part of a design that can provide reliable connectivity in extreme environments that might include high altitudes, extreme shock and vibration, extended exposure to extreme temperatures, exposure to dust and moisture, noisy EMI, and “dirty” power. It requires no active cooling and includes a military-grade power supply that can be easily added to aircraft and ground vehicles.
With the Cisco 5921 ESR package, this router can provide speeds up to 200 mbps. Buyers might also opt for OnTime’s own router package for full wire speeds. The CR-6200 series can provide ideal forward-fit or retrofit solutions for deploying voice, video and data LAN/WAN capabilities for mobile, airborne, ground, manned or unmanned vehicles, and sensor applications. It can provide up to 24 gigabit Ethernet and 4 10-gigabit Ethernet ports for robust networking capabilities that live up to Cisco’s reputation for providing excellent Quality of Service (QoS), security, availability and ease of management. It is designed to minimize training requirements for individuals who are already familiar with the Cisco IOS software and Cisco-like CLI interfaces and with protocols like Radio Aware Routing (RAR), Dynamic Link Exchange Protocol (DLEP), Comms On The Move (COTM) applications, and Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET).
OnTime Networks has a good reputation for providing military-grade, time-synchronized, fully managed Ethernet routers and switches for the aerospace and defense industries. To learn more about this company and its products, visit OnTime Networks at Ontimenet.com.
